On Sunday I attended a wedding fair and had a stall. I was to play music at low level. When I was setting up, the audio mixer was not reliably performing, it kept cutting out. The 12 Volt power lead appeared to be the culprit, but in fact it was the power socket in the mixer. The two socket leads had not been properly soldered onto the circuit board. Insufficient soldering time or heat was responsible. I had to use a back-up mixer that I had with me. The audio mixer boasts Designed in the U.K. (But made in China).
When I go to remote jobs I always take two of essentials even if I only need one. It saves time and effort if the original new item is faulty or broken.
Backups are essential.
Do you take back-up materials to jobs?
