Global warming? Can flue gas be absorbed by Chlorella or seaweeds

The latest IET members news shows that York University won the first prize for a project to reclaim the heat from a data centre to grow Chlorella algae.

Excellent idea;  but how can the IET council and committees arrange funding to push this project forward ?

At the same time our environmental and technical committees could consider how to fund a project to carbon capture the flue gases at Pembroke power station in SW Wales.

This would involve diverting the gases to bubble into the Pembroke lagoon 100 metres or so away where the Chlorella or other sea weeds could be planted.

This project could sensibly be run by station engineers and monitored by a nearby university if a funded grant could be arranged
