Lightning Protection Refurbishments

If refurbishing a building and adding on a very small extension is there any requirement to retrospectively install a lighting protection system to the existing building if a new risk assessment recommends this.

    It would be extremely difficult to justify later not having done it if the risk assessment shows it as a requirement to reduce risk to a tolerable level. Presumably if you are working for a client then best to inform them of the requirement, the risk of not doing it and the additional cost. Probably best to advise them to check with their insurer too as they will certainly have an opinion.
