Certification of EV charging stattions

I'm looking for someone for discussion of Certification of EV  DC charging stattions. The process of getting CE declaration and certification.

What tests are needed to be done to get CE mark and which national bodies of EU can do it? What are the main principal of certification of EV CS?

  • I take it you mean certification of the equipment (e.g. as by a manufacturer) rather than certification of the installation (to local wiring regs, e.g. BS 7671).

There's a bit of background information here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/using-the-ukca-marking and https://www.gov.uk/guidance/ce-marking

and some more specifics for electrical equipment: https://www.businesscompanion.info/en/quick-guides/product-safety/electrical-equipment

Is this for equipment for the UK? "Brexit" seems to have messed things up a bit on that score. AFAIK CE marks are still (for the moment) acceptable for the UK market (as are UKCA and/or UKNI marks), but might limit your choice of partners if any 3rd party testing/evaluation is needed.

I would guess that compliance with BS EN 61851 would be your starting point, although some features (e.g. open PEN detection) may go outside that and require evidence that things comply with more fundamental legislation.

Yes I mean certification of the equipment as by a manufacture and on the EU market.
