The Megger MFT uses a 15 mA loop test current, so a little leakage in the circuit, and connected loads will cause a trip, as will a having RCD that trips around 15 mA..
A lot of RCDs wI’ll trip around 17 mA, so it doesn’t need much standing leakage in the installation for the RCD to trip whilst loop testing.
