Invitation to Participate in a Research Survey - Trust in the results of computational models

Star We invite you to participate in our research survey on the topic of communicating and interpreting validation outcomes! Star

Our team at the University of Liverpool is working on recommendations on how to communicate about the outcomes of validation processes to demonstrate confidence in predictions of computational models. To achieve this, we must establish how industry audiences interpret and understand the language used by engineers in relation to the outcomes from validation activities.

We have developed a short survey which asks how you would interpret different statements when used by engineers to describe the outcome of a validation process.

Completing the survey should not take more than 5 or 10 minutes

Please feel free to share this with colleagues who may be interested!

Who Can Participate?

  • Industry and academic professionals in engineering;
  • Participants should work in the engineering sector in industries that use model verification and validation but not necessarily need to be intimately familiar with validation methods.

We are running this survey as part of our research project, funded by the APEX award, which is investigating how validation outcomes are communicated within the engineering industry, and how the language used around validation affects public perception and trust in computational models and validation procedures. By participating, you will be providing data that will be used to inform communication guidelines for engineers to report their findings accurately and in an accessible manner.

If you have questions or want to learn more about our project, feel free to get in touch!

Thank you for your participation and support, Ksenija
