Installing tails from a new DNO 400A TPN cut-out to an existing panelboard

Hi All, we have been asked to install tails from a new DNO 400A TPN cut-out to an existing panelboard. This new DNO supply appears to be TN-S (we are trying to source the quotation to confirm the DNO supply arrangement.) The building is of steel frame cons

1No. PME and 1No. TN-S supply into a single steel frame building.

  • A lot of DNOs these days, where there are multiple supplies to a single building, put the N-PE link at a common point outside the building and run separate N and PE from there to the cut-out(s) - that way all supplies have the benefit of TN earthing but diverted N currents within the building are avoided. New supplies may be "presented as TN-S" but still be PME.
