RGB LED lights via fibaro controllers

Hi

I am looking to install 24v RGB LED lights around my kitchen from a centrally located PSU / controller position.

From this position the lights require 5core cable. Would anyone have any experience or know what cable can be used for first fixing that complies with regs? I seem to remember a debate once about using flex for first fixing?

Just to add to this I am wanting to mount the fibaro modules within a unit. Am I correct that boxes used for terminations/joints can still be plastic? I am thinking of mounting a box next to my consumer unit and it would be nice to have a matching metalclad one however am worried the wireless z-wave may be restricted so may not work.

Does anybody fit this sort of thing and have any stories/information to share? Information seems very limited on wiring for home automation!
