  • I watched Ben Fogle staying with some off gridders, ok they were basically wild camping, but the washed their hair in errm weewee, a bit extreme methinks
  • I know of several households who are off grid.

    One household is very low technology, the only electricity is from a single 60 watt PV module, which suffices for a simple life.  At the other extreme is a family with about 5Kw of PV and a couple of wind turbines, 11Kw of inverter capacity and a 24 volt, 4,500 AH battery bank,. This household also have a diesel generator but it is little used.
