Saving Money. Using pre-used R.C.D.s

A certain online flea market auction site is offering Wylex R.C.D.s at very low prices. I have received some samples to appraise. The ones that I have received seem unused and work well when tested. They are listed as "used" presumably as they may have been in storage for some time and may have superficial surface marks due to handling, or be a bit dusty.

What are others views about installing such pre-owned R.C.D.s if they are correctly tested before installation? Others are advertised as being recovered from installations. What are others' views about installing those in installations if they are correctly tested first?

Both are labelled as complying with IEC/BSEN 61008.

It would save on materials and help the planet if we can recycle.

Thanks,

Z.

One of my colleagues was called out to a property where the BSEN60018 RCD would not reset after a lamp had blown. As it was late evening he replaced it with a second hand RCD until the following day where he could purchase another.
