The submarine bit is 38km long. It has 25kV cables. It officially opened on this day in 1994.

    Aaaannnnnnd ebee has the right answer. Well done. The 25kV of course is used for the overhead catenary cables for the trains. It seems like yesterday that I heard of the opening on  the news. Time flees, or flies if you like.
