Steel trunking assembly

Hi

I was just wondering what tools you use when bolting steel trunking together? I don’t do much of it but had quite a bit on a recent job and decided to try a small battery impact gun as I noticed another spark using one whilst assembling trunking recently. It sped the whole job up quite a bit, I was careful not to overdo the tightening as they were only m6 nuts and bolts. I’ve used the old faithful spanner’s and sockets in the past but the impact gun seemed a good job. What re your views on this method? Thanks

  • It’s usually roofing bolts and hex nuts that are supplied with the unitrunk trunking that I use. I use the waste trunking triangles that you get after making a 45 set to try to hold the head of the bolt on the inside of the trunking and tighten the nut with the impact gun on the outside.
