BS7671 and Public Houses & Restaurants

Is regulation 115.1 saying that BS7671 does not apply to public areas (such as bar areas) and business related non-public areas (such as catering areas) of Pubs/Restaurants, but can apply to private areas (such as living quarters) of such properties?

    I presume you realise the HSE doesn’t get involved with H&S in licenced premises such as pubs and the council environmental health team deal with it.


    When I phoned the HSE about a possible electrical H&S issue to say that I had got the DNO to send a lineman out to have a look and we both thought it was dangerous, but neither myself or the DNO were in a position to fo anything about it the HSE said they were not in a position to to anything about it either and said pass it onto the local council environmental health team.
