Support the campaign to protect the title of ‘Electrician’. Whatever was the outcome?

Another question:

Not sure about this sentence below from the JIB, it does not make complete sense taken by itself. Is a gold card lesser value than a Reg Electrician. 


Electricians who signed up as Registered Electricians with the 17th Edition must upgrade to  the 18th Edition by 1st July 2019 or revert to their standard gold card

    Some years ago I went to wire some central heating controls and I asked the plumbers what the story was about the replacement consumer unit that had been installed a couple of days prior as every circuit was protected by a B16 MCB.


    Apparently the customers thought quotes from electricians for replacing the CU they had had were excessive, so the husband had bought a CU  and a box of B16 MCBs then got a bloke from down the pub to swap the original fuse board out for thirty quid on the Saturday morning.


    Top bloke that bloke from down the pub.
