Wire termination sequence numbering

I'm upgrading a load of circuits from MCBs to RCBOs and as expected most of the distribution boards have singles that are randomly terminated on the bus bars so finding the appropriate N is a pain.

I know I've read a requirement for Neutrals and CPCs to be terminated in the appropriate sequence on their buss bars to match the circuit identification sequence but I can't find where.

Any one know where it is referred to?  closest I've got is 514.1.2 but I think it might have been more explicitly stated in a GN.

Thanks in advance

  • as a practical tip, if it is singles and there is a little slack and not too much risk of lieve metal to touch, you may be able to use a clamp meter to find the N with the equal and opposite current to the L.

Of course there is a slim chance of more than one final circuit having the same load current
