Public liability claim not settled after 4 months,renewal premium due soon.

As above,the insurers are dragging their heels over paying out on some damage done by myself

to a machine.They are disputing the size of an invoice for repairs by others.The renewal is next

month.Am I right in thinking a new insurer what not take me on until the claim is resolved?

I am considering using the insurance ombudsman if things drag on much longer.

    I was in a similar position years ago, I decided to stay with the same company.

    I admitted liability and expected a quick outcome. Then it all went a bit weird, I’d recorded the serial numbers of the damaged equipment, the claimant then added a few other bits. Insurance investigators got involved and the claimant was eventually imprisoned for fraud (it wasn’t the first time he’d tried it).
