We have sea mist here today. Not too cold but a bit depressing as there is no sun. Anyway, last week I visited a refurbished flat in an old building to speak to two blokes living together about moving a consumer unit and undertaking the installation of new sockets and some new recessed down lighting work etc
1. The blokes were talkative. Very talkative. If one wasn't talking the other was, sometimes both together.
2. I was asked to remove my shoes before walking upstairs. The flat is very upmarket, fully carpeted and furnished and a few big antique bits of furniture scattered about. Books everywhere.
3. Where new sockets were required it was o.k. because they told me that I can "take the new supply from there", pointing to an existing socket some distance away.
4. The consumer unit under the kitchen sink with waste pipes in front of it, in a sink unit. They want to position the new one about two meters away on a kitchen wall next to the hob. No R.C.D. protection at present.
5. They are planning a bathroom installation in an existing utility room.
6. They want me to work with a heating engineer as he will be taking up some Weetabix flooring sheets, they say. We can work well together they say.
7. When I quoted my day rate they said; "Does that include materials?".
I wish to pas this job on. Any takers?
