The insulation of the overhead supply cables is quite thick, and it is unlikely that the supporting buckle clips were the cause of the clicking on the radio. The clicking was probably caused by switching of lights or heating etc. possibly even loads on timers. Of course there may have been a loose connection at the top of a pole due to corrosion or wind vibration.
