  • W1YID and KC1FNX are both US Radio Amateurs and significant characters - you might assume that it would be a little non-standard.

    I agree, a kango is a bit OTT.  An SDS drill is perfectly adequate. I have a tool I made by welding a stub of steel conduit to a broken drill bit specially for driving earth rods in funny situations.

    I do prefer to water drill if the situation is compatible with that.
