How to wire a 1970's plug...

Just seen this and thought I'd share with you...


As part of the IET's 'Exploring the Archives' feature, my colleague Asha Gage‍ from the Archives Team gives us a quick look at an unusual item in the IET Archives. A tea towel from the 1970's made to help the public to understand the changes in wiring. ?

    Even "more proper":

    Red, white, and green up to the 11th    And CPC, black or bare, if fitted at all
    Red. white, and blue from the 12th       And CPC, green  or bare, if fitted at all



    So we had our live phase colour reused as as earth transition year as  1950 as 12th edition came out.
