6A lighting cct to supply a 13A socket

So, we all know about feeding lights from a socket cct, but would you do it the other way around, running on to a single 13A socket from a 6A lighting cct (which is wired in 1.5mm2, to run a few LED's) to supply a lawn mower and similar items? Somebody was given a quote to install the socket.

  • Not in my view best practice, but acceptable in certain circumstances when it is known that the socket will only be used for a low loading appliance. Examples include a loft mounted TV signal amplifier, or a modern central heating boiler.

Not suitable for a lawn mower IMHO as I perceive some risk of the 6 amp MCB tripping. Also a socket normally used for a lawnmower might well be used for other garden tools some of which have substantial loadings, or for an electric barbeque.
