Does anyone know of the latest relationship between these?

  • I spoke to Stroma this morning. I have been assured that from our point of view, everything remains the same including the subscription.
  • If that statistic is correct and BG is only a few members, they are not notifying jobs correctly are they? Perhaps they never do certifyable jobs, although they offer CU changes and shower installation.....
  • If you wish to check out the current state of the part p mess and the plethora of confusing scams and rackets on offer I recommend sparkyninja's youtube channel. He has a 4 part summary of govt meetings with the scam providers, none of whom can agree with each other. The series is titled

    '

The problem with the UK Electrical VOLUNTARY bodies

I particularly laughed at the stage in one of the meetings with the govt minister where the certsure/nic lady (Emma somebody) said she was sure that 90% of electrical work in the UK was carried out by 80% of registered contractors. How could she ever know of 100% of the work carried out daily in order to make a valid comparison?

I'm glad I stayed out of the part p nonsense since day one.

I listened to that parliamentary committee meeting and the censure lady didn't appear to be that convincing. Its all about protecting the investment...

What's happened to JP? I suspect he's going to be very busy chasing up all those late assessments, or maybe he's jumped ship and now working for one of the other electrical certification schemes .....

  • To be honest I'm not worried about any perceived variations in benefits from one scheme operator to another,  I joined NAPIT just before part P came into force and I'm still with them because membership of their scheme works for me.

I can turn up at a customers home, present them with a business card and they can read my  name on my work shirt, given my name they can do an internet search to check me out on my own website,  the NAPIT website and the Competent Person Electrical website.

To be honest I don't think many people bother to check me out as I try to present an image of being able to assess what needs doing, then getting on and doing it, as well as leaving them with paperwork that says what I have done with confirmation of who I am and how to get in touch with me if they need to.

    That's all people really want.

  • Well Part P has been going since 2005. Not very many ordinary folk are aware of it and most that are don`t bother much about it.

Parliament was told it would cost electricians about £500 over 5 years.

  • perspicacious:

If I've interpreted the latest 6 months to end Mar 2018, the statistics would appear to suggest the following average number of notifications per member in that period:

    Stroma            3.9

    Napit               4.6

    Certsure          15.2

    Could this indicate:

    1) Certsure members have more jobs to notify?

    2) Certsure notify all their jobs?

    3) Stroma and Napit have less jobs to notify?

    4) I might get a week in the cooler for completing this line

Any other suggestions as to why?
