Just seen a video where the SPD company - that's the name - state that their units are fine to use with any brand of consumer unit. Reason? Because SPDs are passive components.

This was at last week's ELEX show. The guy on the Hager stand next door was not best pleased to hear it!

Wylex do a SPD that can be connected directly after the meter. It’s part number is REC2 SPD and combines a 100a isolator.

it looks like <125A, no Protective device is required up stream.
