SPDs

Just seen a video where the SPD company - that's the name - state that their units are fine to use with any brand of consumer unit. Reason? Because SPDs are passive components.

This was at last week's ELEX show. The guy on the Hager stand next door was not best pleased to hear it!

    I think he was most probably miffed about the fact that SPD products are significantly cheaper than his and he can see his overgrown margins slipping away.

    Considering that these things comprise of a couple of jellybean parts priced individually at jelly bean prices - see RS components for costs - I'm surprised that these thing cost  more than a fiver each..
