Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) - Are you being installed?

Hi,


I have not posted in some time but have always found it helpful when I did before so...


My question is a simple one, are you finding that AFDDs are being specified and installed as per IET recommendation, or are people choosing to ignore them for now as they are not a binding requirement?

    Would I be correct in assuming that the initial poster might be someone from the manufacturing side of the industry who is trying to garner some opinion in order to lobby for the compulsory introduction of these unicorn devices because the take-up is not as large as his company might like it to be?




    Must admit.... this did cause me some mirth... I could not be further from this!
