New IET Electrical Website

Hi All


Have you seen the new IET Electrical website at https://electrical.theiet.org/?


It's been updated to reflect the IET's new branding.

  • Tis true, so it is. When I tried to open the file an error message stated that I had to buy Windows Office.



    Don't believe everything Micro$oft tell you. If you'd installed one of the alternatives (such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice) it would have worked fine without having to buy anything. On the other hand it might have been easier to read if it had been in a more portable format such as PDF - but then if the form has to be filled in and returned (rather than just read) then the "writer" versions of Adobe Acrobat aren't free or commonly pre-installed so you're back to the same problem again. You could have a web-based form that anyone could fill in and submit using any browser, but then the user doesn't get an opportunity to keep a copy of what they're submitted (or format it nicely) so not ideal either.
