  • Lol ... Even the better quality Amontillardo sherry is more or less incompatible with other alcholic beverages.

    As stated by Google.
"Can you get drunk on sherry?
In theory, yes. Cooking sherry has alcohol in it. Drink enough and you end up drunk. However, it's got an awful lot of salt in it, rendering it very, very difficult to drink. "

which basically sums it up. Drink washing up liquid and stay clean ........................lol

    Legh
  • The reviews since it was rebranded are not good.

I thought the contents of the bottles remains the same and there is just a new label. If that is true then I would not describe it as a very successful rebranding.

  • Sparkingchip:

There’s a bit of a drama going on at our house this Christmas Eve.

Harveys Bristol Cream has been rebranded  with a temperature indicating label to encourage younger drinkers to drink it chilled with ice and a twist of orange.

However my mother-in-law thinks she may have been given a dodgy bottle of sherry that may not be the real McCoy.

For any new readers, the previous record for any winter equinox good wishes that contained Christmas or Xmas in their titles was this one of 2011 with 40 posts and the average number of posts by each respondant was greater than the total number of post made to the new forum:

A Very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful, Prosperous, Healthy and Happy New Year to You All.

  • Please don't get me going on the subject of gin. One of the worst upsets that we had in the second Gulf war was that we ran out of tonic, but there was still gin. Since then, there have been so my supposed distillers (most of it was chemically produced years ago) that any Johnny Foreigner might conclude that we have turned into a nation of dipsomaniacs.

Nothing. It would have been so much worse if we had had to drink neat tonic. ??

Did ye not have any scrumpy or cider to go with the gin?

    Cheers!
