Draft for Public Comment - IET Code of Practice for EV Charging Equipment Installation, 4th Edition

Open for comment until 1 November 2019: https://www.theiet.org/publishing/iet-standards/transport-iet-standards/electric-vehicle-charging-equipment-installation-code-of-practice-4th-edition/
  • Interesting.

Obvious question - how does this mesh with AMD 1 of BS 7671:2018 which is also out for public comment at the moment and seems to cover the same subject? Might this be out of date pretty much as soon as it's published or is there an assumption that the DPC for BS 7671 isn't going to make any significant changes?

  • well looking quickly in the lunch break, the device that disconnects LN and E if the L-N voltage goes out of spec, is in the new COP, so at least in that respect the ammendment and the COP stand and fall together. There is probably more.
