Can’t work in Ireland

A young man from the U.K. with the electrotechnical NVQ L3, 2391 and 18th Edition has been excluded from a job in the Republic of Ireland because their NVQ is said to acquire a level 6 status as indeed does the Scottish NVQ. The NVQ L3 in the U.K. is mapped only to Level 5. The essential criteria for the job was level 6. Believe it or not, the job is nothing other than installing meters for ESB.

anyone know how these qualifications are mapped?

So going back to the original post, it just looks like UK electrical trade qualifications are not rated in other countries as being an equivalent of their own.

Nothing new here - go and look for (as an example) equivalence of UK engineering degrees against European degrees

Our 3 year so called short cycle degrees are looked at with incredulity by the 5 year, long cycle degree course providers in the EU
