I’ve been doing some reading on the above, and some seem to suggest that the swa should not be relied upon for the CPC, what is the generally consensus on here, my thoughts are it appears to still be listed in the BBB, and in my opinion in certain conditions I.e. indoors so no risk of rust due to poor termination should be fine and if glanced correctly gives appropriate readings.
Perfectly fine to use armour as CPC, same as metal conduit - if it is going to corrode it is not installed correctly or it is the wrong cable for the location anyway.
However, the water is muddied with some smaller sizes of SWA, as the armour cross-section is not enough if for example you are exporting a PME earth to an outbuilding that needs bonding to plumbing or whatever. Also for some very large sizes, depending on circuit rating and length, Zs amy be too high.
