Earhing of Semi-Permenant Fencing

Afternoon all,

We are installing some semi-permanent (Herras type) fencing as demarcation across a site. Parts of the fencing will pass within a meter of our pipelines which are bonded to the site main earthing. My question Is does the semi-permanent fencing need bonding too or is it ok as it sits on the ground rather than in the ground?

Thanks

Tom

  • As far as I'm aware no there will be no electrical equipment connected to the fence and yes the product pipes run across site into and out of buildings with electrical equipment. I've checked the regs book and the code of practice BS7430 and there ae some references but not for Herras type fences.
