The Weekend (Smoke Alarm) Quiz.

In 2018 in England over 7,500 house fires were attended by fire fighters.

1. How many home battery operated smoke alarms did not warn of a fire or alert residents to danger  as a percentage?

2. What percentage of home battery operated alarms has a faulty or missing battery?

3. What percentage of home mains powered alarms were found to be faulty?

I'd say that was more of a dead giveaway ... amazing that so many mains alarms failed. I do worry that so few people seem to realize they need replacing after 10 years.

And poor positioning's another issue, we went on a free course from a major alarm manufacturer, and they were very detailed on WHY you keep them away from walls and light fixtures... the disturbance in airflow can cause many minutes of delay.. :(

  • Mornin' MH,

yep, the clue had to be very obvious as it seems that forum readers were stumped by this quiz. Thanks for your observations.
