It is getting increasingly difficult to get R39 filament reflector lamps for the lava lamps these days. A large retail catalogue retailer sells lava lamps but not the spare replacement bulbs. L.E.D. lamps just won't do as they do not create sufficient heat to warm the wax. I have resorted to using 25W oven lamps.
There seem to be a few available on a rather large online book retailing site?
