Hi...
I have two 1960's Wylex boards, (1 x 6 way for the power and 1 x 4 way for the lighting), they are built like tanks and, I wouldn't change them for the world, (maybe for a new Jaguar perhaps?)!!
I'm ok for the power side, even have some spares BUT, I need 4 x 5 amp MCB's for the lighting, as they are all BS3036's so, the question is... do any modern MCB's fit the old type CCUs'?
The annoying thing is... I know my son throws loads of these away, (as he's doing CCU changes all the time!!), and I have asked him to save some for me BUT, you know what kids are like????
Thanks... Tom

Hello Tom, I believe that new plug in M.C.B.s are still available that will fit the old Wylex fuse boxes. They may be 6 Amp rated. Try C.P.C. or Screwfix. They can replace the old 3036 rewireable carriers. Wylex own make and G.E. will fit the old boards.
An example.

You know, I've just binned a lot of those of various ratings, but I've still got boxes to go through from when we moved in 2016 - you should have asked last week! I'll have a rummage during the week.
We're making some changes behind the scenes to deliver a better experience for our members and customers. Posting and interactions are paused. Thank you for your patience and see you soon!
