Suck it up bro!

Really quite miffed when I received invoice from NICEIC for annual enrolment which shows an increase of £10 over the previous year. Absolutely no explanation for the increase. From Companies House I note the tangled web of interconnected companies feeding funds in to Electrical Safety First via ESC Partnerships Ltd who own Certsure along with the Electrical Contractors Association who in turn operate, inter-alia NICEIC and ELECSA.

Certsure have 332 staff who were paid an average £39478 which means top dogs getting a hell of a lot more than the average. Pension schemes are also being well and truly feathered.

As for the value of this so-called charity, I am not so sure. I cannot see how their activities can be effectively measured. Anyway, like the rest of the sheep, I will likely continue to pay the additional tenner.

Still, this particular sheep is thoroughly cheesed off!
  • Welcome to the real world Lyle
  • Change your competent person scheme body for a year, wait for them to invite you to rejoin at a discount. Change again and if they try it on again then change to another scheme. It works with other insurance agencies.

  • Legh, I can’t leave them now, a few years ago they gave me a certificate for twenty-five years membership with big gold writing on it all wrapped in a faux red ribbon. I want to hang on for the thirty year certificate, You never know what they might stretch to then!
  • An ID card, lanyard and a ballpoint pen all with their logo on?

  • Does Michael Parkinson do their adverts?
  • Well Lyle and Andy,

I just felt something tugging at my leg.....

I have collected a bucket load of lanyards with a number of cards with various titles, very useful to hold your driving licence or european health insurance card, I suppose, I still have my shoulder bag, thats not much good, I thought about sending that back.

No certificates unless you call the certification of acceptance for ones different responsiblities each year to the scheme.

Well, if you really think you're going to get that gold watch after paying your subscriptions for thirty years then I'm afraid you're living in the past.

I maybe wrong and they will want to use you as an example of a loyal reliable and trustworthy customer......

    Good luck with that one.
