Supplier's intake for a TN-S supply with 3 buttons on top of the Neutral connection.

Not seen this before, but in a house there is a Neutral block attached to the Line block for a TN-S supply. This Neutral block is a Henley with 3 "toadstool" buttons (seem to be interlocked, on top and in a row), - White, White and t'other Black. I imagine that this is an isolation feature but for the Neutral only?. What's it all about? (Not too old to learn).

  • Sorry,

I did take a picture but too much of a hassle to display.

On second thoughts, I think the 3 plugs in a row are simply plugs for future Neutral tap off positions. There was no similar arrangement for the adjacent, Live connection box for obvious reasons. The interlocked appearance of the 3 plugs with mushroom type heads, was probably due to ease of manufacture. Hopefully, it was not possible to remove the "plugs" from outside the box, (this was fitted  with a supplier's seal).
