"17 edition"consumer units still being sold.

After watching a webinar describing the dangers of using dual rcd cu,s with type AC rcd supplying dishwashers,induction hobs etc,

I was wondering why,more than 12months after 18th came into force,they are still for sale.Thanks for any opinions.

  • I stopped using Type AC RCDs a number of years back.


    I can get Type A RCDs (certainly at least the RCBOs if not the RCCBs) at the same price as the Type ACs were. Really it's a bit of a no brainer.


    An EVSE installation recently without 6mA DC leakage protection necessitated a Type B RCCB. Obviously that was substantially more expensive.
