HV switch room isolating facility - mandatory requirements

Can anyone tell me in a private HV switch room that is fed from a DNO switch room is it a mandatory requirement to have the means to isolate the incoming DNO HV supply via an emergency stop for example, I believe it is but can’t seem to find the piece of legislation can anyone point me in the right direction.

  • I've also only seen EAWR §12 quoted as a source.

However I do know that while some DNOs offer the customer an opt out, others have it as a requirement for their standard HV connection arrangement.

I would add though that it is standard practice and if it were omitted I would expect similar alternative provision and/or risk assessment, including a good reason for its omission.
