Hi All I was wondering if using the attached diagram would this be a good design for switching on numerous number of lights in one switch. I assume it is in some form of daisy chain. Its the one that I have rung?.Jimmy

  • Some years ago I was working on a certain Opera House in London. The consultants had asked for all the corridor, stairs and toilet lights to be operated by one switch at the final exit door for the staff. I can't remember how many circuits of lights this required but I remember that they were being fed from 29 different Distribution Boards.

The final design used Normally Closed contactors which confused the electricians as the circuit had to be energised to switch the lights off but at least this was fail safe and also meant that there was no chance of a contactor buzzing during a performance.
