24volt and 230 volt in same trunking

Testing a building where the fire alarm in another building has been extended into the 1 I am testing. the old wiring has been used and is laid with a metal trunking.
However, BS 5839 Part 1 would tend to preclude randomly mixing the fire alarm circuits in with general circuits - principally to stop the life safety circuits being damaged by general fiddling with the LV Power (ie non life safety) circuits.
It's perfectly credible that the 24V circuits are fine in terms of insulation grading - but the whole system would not comply with BS 5839-1
