Cooker/hob flex

This is a question about connecting flexes to hobs/cooker that don’t come with them.

what do people use for extra secure to their given terminals as I feel just twisting together and putting in there terminals doesn’t feel sufficient enough . Now I’ve tried some ring crimps but I’ve found the size of the insulated plastic makes it hard to actually sit with having very limited spaces

what do you guys do?

  • There are a few options

.You choose exactly the crimp size to fit the screw diameter and they should fit.

.You cut the crimp edges slightly to fit

.You look at uninsulated ring terminals and choose the correct size.

.You look at the wire size you are using and select one with the smallest cross-section for the appliance diversity rating, not the "10mm will fit" option. Most appliances are perfectly OK with a 6mm or 4mm connecting cable, taking a view on the diversity of its loads.
