Do we have any members working for manufacturers of wiring accessories etc ? If so, I would like to suggest a few products for which a see a demand.
1) A six or eight gang 13 amp socket outlet. For fixed installation not for extension leads. Useful whenever large numbers of socket outlets are needed in close proximity, in home offices, workplaces, and for home entertainment equipment. Possibly in two versions, one with a 13 amp fuse to limit the total load and one unfused and suited for say 32 amps in total.
2) A double fused spur unit/fused connection unit, to fit a standard double outlet box. Neater and quicker to wire than two single units next to each other.
3) A range of fused connection units and 20 amp double pole switches, but with GREEN pilot lamps instead of red or orange. Much more suitable for loads intended to be left on.
4) a range of decorative enclosed light fittings with a "night light" option. One live feed to an LED light source of say 1,500 lumens, and a second live feed to a very much lower output LED of say 5 or 10 lumens.
5) A "European" style socket outlet but fitted with a 13 amp fuse holder on the front plate in order that it may be safely connected to a UK type 32 amp circuit.
6) A new type of self contained emergency light for the domestic market. To light automatically in case of mains failure, but ONLY IF THE LIGHT SWITCH IS TURNED ON. Designed such that if the occupant is out, or asleep and the lights turned out, that it WONT light in battery mode and discharge the battery to no purpose.
Then if the mains power has not been restored, the light may be turned on/off by the switch in battery mode as needed.
