  • I agree. We seem to have beaten it to the internet.

    Regards,

    Alan.
  • Some interesting new stuff. A new Part 8 for Prosumers Electrical Instalations and a new defininition PEI to learn.

Foundation earthing for new build and extensions.

Type A RCDs in preference to Type AC to be used on resistive circuits only.

AFDDs compulsory for high current circuits in dwellings.

    lots of other interesting stuff.

lots of debate on the forum  I am thinking?

This is your big chance to feed back your views on the changes or forever hold your views!
  • My understanding of the term "Prosumer" is someone who buys high end professional equipment to use at home, a consumer using professional equipment. For example a consumer who buys high end professional landscape maintenance equipment such as hedge cutters and mowers to use at home themselves. I believe the IET have a different take on it.

AFDDs compulsory for high current circuits in dwellings. That will be interesting, I have just recorded an estimated maximum demand of 160 amps on a 60 amp supply. ?

  • I cannot see all the recently installed  'amd3 ' tin can consumer units being changed again to make way for an AFDD without a bit of objection.- think of all  those rented flats that need an eicr..
  • Prosumer

I have the safety on currently but lots of ammunition.

Is there a PDF copy to review or do we have to make do with the website?  (It is not so user friendly).

    Thanks,

Perhaps due to much interest in it but the DPC is practically not usable due to the online viewer not working properly.  The contents panel does not work and the document itself scrolls but only very very slowly.
