Mechanical Protection for Flex cables

Hi there,


I would like to know whether a mechanical protection is required for the final flex connection to the luminaire. The length of the flex is less than a meter. The installation  is for pit lighting in a railway depot.

Could you please also advise which section of the regulation talk about the requirements?

    Looking at your photo I cannot see why it does not just go straight into the light fitting with a galvanised steel fitting rather than having a loop that people and tools may get caught up on.
