Well, I got a letter today from Jelf insurance. I used to insure my van and my personal car with them, for quite a few years as it shows on the letter. In those days it would have been NAPIT insurance on the letterhead but it was Jelf all the same.
Apparently, they didn't quite offer me the best deal available each year and the letter is a profound apology, beautifully penned, offering me the refund. In my case £183. ' We appreciate that this letter may come as a surprise to you'.... Yep! I nearly choked my cup of tea across the table...
Anyone else get one?
I've had a letter from the IET Foothold charity beside the bed for about three weeks now. They're appealing for a bit more help for engineers in trouble as a result of the Covid stuff. I give them a few pounds at every renewal and have been waiting for next month when I don't have to pay rent any more on the place near work ( back in Zs towers full time since last Friday, still amidst a pile of boxes) . I will accept Jelf's offer and transfer it to Foothold.
NAPIT must be utterly dismayed by this. You make a deal with a provider who is going to fly your flag and you theirs, you put your faith in them. And then they F your members over. My heart goes out to you NAPIT.
