NON COMPLIANT NEW EV INSTALLATIONS

I was sent some information from the ECA concerning an audit undertaken by the Office of Low Emission Vehicles.


The sites inspected were those installed by "qualified" and "registered" installers claiming the OLEV subsidy.


0.8% were found to be dangerous (C1), 19.6% Potentially Dangerous (C2) and 25.6% requires improvement (C3). That makes 46% of new EV installations by qualified and registered persons to be non-compliant.


Am I the only person who thinks this is an utter disgrace?

    When I was in my early twenties the lad who lived next door bought a crop spraying plane and to accompany it on the ground a second hand Ford A-series County 4x4 fire tender to serve as a fire tender and refuelling truck. This truck then had to be kitted out with the earthing gear, for use whilst refuelling and in case of the plane being ditched, I spent some time being taught the ins and outs of using the earthing gear with the view that I could be ground crew. In the end I didn't get involved on a daily basis and the business didn't last long as UK farms are barely big enough to justify aircraft for spraying, so it's just become another memory and a skill gained but not utilised!
