Possibly a bit off topic, but is anyone aware of any functional safety standards for EV chargers that cover the electronics and software aspects, rather then the installation?
Others will likely know the details better than me, but I think mostly it originated in SAE J1772 (covering not just the plugs & sockets but the "protocols" between vehicle and EVSE - the procedures by which the charge rate that is acceptable to the EVSE, vehicle and cable is determined, checking of c.p.c. continuity, requirements for ventilation and so on). As far as I can tell that then got internationalized (and amended somewhat) into IEC 62196 and comes down to us in the UK as BS EN 62196.
