Relocation of kitchen so let etc

Hi all was wondering what you all do when asked to relocate sockets during a kitchen refit, specifically where you have made a joint in an existing 2G backbox which is no longer going to be used?

Do you just fit a blanking plate over, let the tiler tile over or terminate in wago connectors and let the plaster bury the joint?

  • Doesn't this illustrate a fundamental problem with the zones? If (ordinary) people don't know about them, what good are they? It didn't stop a previous occupier or tradesman drilling or nailing through a cable in daughter's house, nor did it stop her banging in a picture hook directly above a socket. I didn't bring her up that way, but if you are utterly unscientific, why would you give a moment's thought as to how leccy gets to your sockets or wall lights?
