JPs LATEST ADDITION TO HIS TEST KIT

I did an inspection and test for a mate who is an old school electrician on a domestic installation.

A small cupboard under the stairs with an even small access door. Squeezing through the door ( wait for BOD to comment) you can kneel or squat in front of the consumer unit to do your tests. Now my old knees are not what they used to be, even with knee pads, and kneeling for an extended period inspecting and testing a consumer unit tends to seize things up. The sparks had left inside the cupboard a small plastic folding stool he had used. I tried it and it was a lot more comfortable squatting on it than kneeling.

I did an internet search and found the identical model at Screwfix for £4.95. On my next visit to Screwfix I splashed out my £4.95 and purchased one.

I am calling it my Pixie stool and finding it useful for all sorts of situations. Used it today to wash the roof of my car standing on it. It is rated at 150kG (another BOD opportunity). I think it is a good buy at £4.95.

I did buy yet another clamp meter that will measure down to 1mA of DC as my existing DC clamp meter would only measure down to 100mA DC a couple of month ago for some experiments I am doing. I now have more clamp meters than is healthy for an individual but then again I am a test equipment nut.

  • Is there anything left to put on the list for Santa?
  • A Corona Virus Vaccine jab would be my best ever Christmas present along with the rest of the world I suspect!

Most people use a sponge and lean over to reach the roof, not stand on it John!

  • I bought a flip over gardening stool / kneeler to use at work, however I left it in a garage for a few days and the resident mice stole the foam padding.

They also chewed the cap off a can of WD40.
