This might cheer you up - I've found a proposed change in the DPC for AMD2 which I wholeheartedly agree with - Table 52.3 (Minimum cross-sectional area of conductors) appears to be reverting back to its old form with a single 1.0mm² minimum for both power and lighting circuits!
